WATCH: “Letter aaya hai termination ka,” sacked Pakistan selector Abdul Razzaq’s hilarious reply ahead of WCL final

Abdul Razzaq and Wahab Riaz were sacked from the PCB selection committee last week.

Abdul Razzaq | XIn the wake of Pakistan's T20 World Cup 2024 debacle, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi had promised a promised a major surgery and the glimpse of the same was seen last week as Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq were sacked from the selection committee.

There have been allegations of favouritism against the duo, but they have rubbished those claims. Interestingly, both Wahab and Razzaq recently featured in the World Championship of Legends tournament, which India won by beating Pakistan in the final.

Ahead of the title clash on Saturday (July 13), Razzaq was asked on Geo News by former Pakistan pacer Sikander Bakht if there has been some support or prize money promised by the PCB to the team if they beat India.

Razzaq's reply left everyone in splits as he said: "Letter aaya hai termination ka (received termination letter)", referring to his removal as selector.

Earlier, Razzaq spoke on the accusations against him and Riaz, saying that the selection of players for the T20 World Cup was a collective decision of the committee.

“How can I sway the other selectors while selecting the team?” he had said.

Pakistan were eliminated from the T20 World Cup 2024 in the group-stage. The Men in Green paid the price for a Super Over defeat against debutants USA in their campaign opener, followed by a nervy six-run defeat at the hands of arch-rivals India.

After this dismal show, fans and many former cricketers called for wholesale changes in the Pakistan side, including the removal of Babar Azam as skipper.
