Former India opener Gautam Gambhir replaced Rahul Dravid as the head coach of the national men’s cricket team last week.

Gambhir relinquished his IPL commitments before joining the Indian team. Following two seasons of mentoring the Lucknow Super Giants, the 42-year-old assumed a similar role with the Kolkata Knight Riders earlier this year.

Under the guidance of Gambhir, KKR clinched the IPL 2024 title, which strengthened his claims for the high-profile India coach job.

Emerging as a front-runner, Gambhir visited the Eden Gardens to record a farewell video for KKR earlier this month. His association with the Indian team has left a major void in KKR's coaching setup.

Days after his appointment as India coach, Gautam Gambhir shared a warm hug with KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan during the Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant wedding in Mumbai.

Shah Rukh and Gambhir were amongst the guests for the wedding and a video of their interaction has gone viral on social media.

In the clip, the Bollywood superstar could be seen embracing Gambhir, who was all smiles at meeting Shah Rukh. Both of them shared a conversation as well.

Here’s the video:

Gautam Gambhir has always been vocal about how Shah Rukh Khan had always been supportive of him during his stint with KKR both as a player and mentor.

Gambhir’s first assignment as an Indian coach will be the white-ball tour of Sri Lanka, starting on July 27.
