Kamran Akmal and Harbhajan Singh had warred on social media over the Pakistan cricketer’s controversial comments on Sikhs on a Pakistan TV show.
Kamran Akmal was a panelist on a Pakistan TV show during India’s T20 World Cup 2024 match and made an unsavory comment on India pacer Arshdeep Singh, who is a Sikh. The controversy had erupted when Akmal made the controversial comment during Pakistan's T20 World Cup match against India, who won the group-stage match by six runs.
Kamran, who was part of ARY News' cricket panel, made fun of Arshdeep over his Sikh religion before he was going to bowl the final over of the match in New York.
"Kuch bhi ho sakta hai... 12 baj gaye hai,” Akmal said and burst into laughter.
“Kisi Sikh ko nahi dena chaiye 12 baje over," another guest on the show then added to Akmal's joke.
This incensed India cricket fans very much and former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh shared his disgust for Kamran Akmal’s thinking about Sikh religion.
““Lakh di laanat tere Kamraan Akhmal.. You should know the history of sikhs before u open ur filthy mouth. We Sikhs saved ur mothers and sisters when they were abducted by invaders, the time invariably was 12 o’clock . Shame on you…Have some Gratitude,” Harbhajan posted on X.
Recently, Harbhajan Singh and Kamran Akmal cam face-to-face during the ongoing 'World Championship of Legends' (WCL) tournament in Birmingham on Saturday.
The two former on-field rivals were seen in deep discussion after the match, and the moment was captured on video from a distance, followed by the footage making its way to social media. Harbhajan Singh was animated in his discussion with Akmal and was seemingly making him understand something.
