Mohammad Rizwan’s unnecessary ‘Indian’ remark on Haris Rauf incident sparks outrage on internet

Rizwan mentioned Indian fan deliberately despite the video showing the person was Pakistan.

Mohammad Rizwan and Haris Rauf

Pakistan keeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has courted a huge controversy while he showed support to Haris Rauf in the recent controversy. Rauf recently was seen in a video having an altercation

The incident occurred outside Pakistan's squad hotel following their group-stage elimination from the T20 World Cup in the United States and the West Indies. It was unclear what precipitated the event, although it appeared to be the result of some disrespectful comments made by one of the group's followers.

Haris was spotted sprinting across the hedge, charging at someone in a blue T-shirt, despite his wife's urgent attempts to stop him. The other members of the gang attempted to prevent the Pakistani pacer from engaging in a physical brawl.

After the group managed to separate the duo and send Haris across the hedge, the Pakistan pacer shouted, "Tera India nahi hai yeh (This is not your India)," repeatedly in an attempt to emphasize that the fan was from India. But the man in question was heard replying “Pakistan se hu. (I'm from Pakistan).”

Meanwhile, many Pakistan cricketers came forward in support of Haris Rauf and Mohammad Rizwan was one of them. But unlike the others, his tweet was not received well, especially by fans from India.

"It is irrelevant whether the person who disrespected Haris Rauf was from Pakistan or India. What truly matters is that this individual lacked values and manners. No one has the right to disrespect any human being, especially in front of their family members. Such appalling behavior must be stopped. Values like tolerance, respect, and compassion are increasingly rare commodities," Rizwan wrote on X.

Fans were unhappy that despite the video clearly showing and the person saying he was a Pakistan, Rizwan chose to write Indian in his post supporting Rauf.
