Indian cricket fraternity mourns the untimely death of MCA President Amol Kale

Amol Kale had become the MCA President in 2022.

Amol Kale after winning MCA president post | XAmol Kale, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) honorary president, passed away following a cardiac arrest in New York at the age of 47.

Kale, along with MCA secretary Ajinkya Naik and apex council member Suraj Samat, watched India’s thrilling win against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2024 from the stadium on Sunday.

Kale was elected as the MCA president, after defeating former India cricketer Sandeep Patil in a closely-contested battle in October 2022. He was instrumental in the MCA deciding to double Mumbai’s senior men’s match fees starting the forthcoming season.

In May, Kale appointed former India women's team captain Diana Edulji and ex-Mumbai captain Milind Rege as the cricket advisors of the MCA.

Hailing from Nagpur, Kale was based in Mumbai for well over a decade, setting up a variety of businesses. He was considered to be a close aide of Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra’s deputy chief minister.

The Indian cricket fraternity was saddened by the untimely loss of MCA President Amol Kale and shared their grief and condolences on social media.
