Pakistan captain Babar Azam and keeper-batter Azam Khan are being harshly criticized for their insensitivity thanks to a video shared by the Men in Green skipper on his social media. Pakistan is currently in England for the four-T20I series, after defeating Ireland 2-1 in T20Is.
A couple of days prior to the launch of the series in Leeds, the 25-year-old Azam Khan made a highly insensitive video while he was on a bus tour with teammates. The video was shared by Babar Azam on his social media accounts.
In the ill-thought video, Azam Khan is seen with some dollar bills in his hand and he can be seen wiping his sweat with money. While not in the video, a voice reminiscent to that of captain Babar Azam can also be heard alongside several other members of the team.
As part of his joke, the cricketer also bragged about doing the same while responding to his skipper Babar Azam.
However, the ill-timed and insensitive video has led to Azam Khan and Babar Azam facing huge backlash from Pakistani citizens.
One particular social media user even claimed that Azam Khan’s ‘insensitive’ act was aimed at the ‘poor Pakistani’ citizens back home currently suffering from heatwave.
Other Pakistani cricket team fans also took to social media platform X and shared their disgust at the mocking video of Azam Khan.
