“Cricket bhi online khelo”- Pakistan fans fume after new coach Gary Kirsten’s virtual meeting with players

Gary Kirsten, India's 2011 World Cup winning coach, was named as Pakistan's white-ball coach.

Gary Kirsten meeting the Pakistan team players virtually | PCB XPakistan cricket team fans were amused and irritated at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after new white-ball coach Gary Kirsten had a virtual meeting with the Men in Green players. Gary Kirsten was recently appointed the ODI and T20I coach of the team, with Jason Gillespie taking over as Test team coach.

Meanwhile, Gary Kirsten is currently in India for the IPL 2024 as the batting coach of the Gujarat Titans franchise. This means that Kirsten will only link up with the Pakistan team after the IPL finishes, ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and West Indies.

Meanwhile, he had a meeting with the Pakistan team via the Internet and PCB shared a video of the meeting on social media. Kirsten was seen talking to the Pakistan players virtually.

Notably, it is important to note that Kirsten was the head coach of the Indian cricket team that lifted the 2011 World Cup.

However, the Pakistan cricket team fans were not happy with Kirsten not linking up with the team ahead of their tour of Ireland and England for T20Is. They slammed both Kirsten and the PCB for such an arrangement.
