Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya recently recounted an anecdote about his first meeting with Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan. The Mumbai Indians (MI) captain also revealed 'Big B' also paid a special compliment to his father when they first met.
During a recent event organized by Star Sports in Mumbai, the host asked fans to guess Hardik's birthday, which one fan correctly identified as October 11th. Interestingly, this date also marks the birthday of the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, and then Pandya shared an interesting story.
The show's host told Pandya, “It is Amitabh ji's birthday on that day. Did you learn something from them or have any special meetings you would like to share?”

To which, Hardik Pandya said: “He is very big, meeting him in the same room is a big deal. I and my dad met him (Amitabh) for the first time probably in 2017 or 2019, when we won the trophy.”
The Indian all-rounder added, “Then he said a line to Papa, ‘Hey, you have done a great job by giving such a wonderful child to the country’.”
During the event, Pandya also recited the famous dialogue from Amitabh's blockbuster ‘Shahenshah’ in his own different style.

Notably, Hardik sustained an injury during the ODI World Cup 2023, and since then he has been out of action as he was completing his rehabilitation process at the NCA.
However, Pandya participated in the DY Patil T20 Cup to gear up for the upcoming IPL 2024, starting on March 22. He will be leading the five-time IPL champions, MI, in the tournament.
