The ongoing ILT20 2024 league saw one of the best catches in cricket courtesy New Zealand’s Trent Boult. The catch happened in the 12th match of the tournament between MI Emirates and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders.
Abu Dhabi Knight Riders were asked to bat first by MI Emirates captain Nicholas Pooran. Thanks to Andre Russell’s 46* and Sam Hain’s 40 and contributions by Michael Pepper and Alishan Sharafu, ABKR posted 188/5 in 20 overs. For MIE, Fazalhaq Farooqi picked 3/35.
One of those wickets was of Laurie Evans, who in the 18th over, tried to hit Farooqi towards long off. However, an ever-ready Boult eyed the flying ball perfectly as he pulled off a dive and rolled down to complete a beautiful catch off his left hand. Evans returned to the dugout for a duck having faced two balls.

During the run chase, Kusal Perera (54) and Muhammad Waseem (89) forged a solid 104-run partnership to earn a perfect start for the MI Emirates. Captain Pooran then made 33 in 19 balls as MIE won the match by 8 wickets.
