The Pakistan all-rounder played 3 matches for Fortune Barishal in BPL 2024 in the Mirpur leg of the tournament.

However, in the recent match against Khulna Tigers, Malik bowled three big no-balls in an over bringing spot light over his conduct. Malik also scored just five runs off six balls with the bat during that game.

However, the allegations of match-fixing against the Pakistan cricketer have not been proven.

Barishal owner Mizanur Rahman lauded Shoaib Malik's contribution to the team in the first three matches of the season. He, on January 26, 2024, refuted allegations of match-fixing against Shoaib Malik.
