The Indian cricket fraternity reacted in joy as Bhagwan Ram returned to his rightful spot in his birthplace in Ayodhya after more than 500 years. Indian PM Narendra Modi performed the pooja at the new Ram Mandir in the Pran Pratishtha ceremony on January 22, 2024.
The Pran Pratishtha of the idol of Ram Lalla — the childhood form of Lord Ram happened after the Supreme Court gave verdict in favor of Ram Lalla trust that there was a temple at the disputed land ba efore Babri Mosque was dLalla'sshed.
Mughal emperor Babar in 1560s, constructed a mosque at the spot where an ancient Ram Mandir used to be. The mosque was demolished in 1992 and the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) later found evidence of pillars and statues of a temple beneath the Babri Mosque and after several years of legal battle, Ram Mandir is being constructed at the said spot.
Multiple cricketers attended this ceremony in Ayodhya on invitation including Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Anil Kumble, Venkatesh Prasad and Mithali Raj to name a few.
Several other members of the Indian cricket frater,nity took to social media platform X to share their joy for Ram Lalla idol’s consecration ceremony.
