On January 15, the entire India is celebrating a host of festivals across the country. Festivities are galore in India as it celebrates Makar Sankranti, Lohri, Pongal, Uttarayan, and Magh Bihu.
Makar Sankranti is celebrated in North India, while Lohri is a celebration of the Sikh community and is done with lots of enthusiasm in Punjab. Uttarayan is celebrated in Gujarat known for its kite-flying celebration.
Pongal is celebrated in South India, while Magh Bihu is a festival in central and east India, especially Bihar. The festivities are celebrated in traditional ways of their particular region, but all of the festivals bring the nation together as people get to meet each other and share their traditions in a way that makes India a very special place.
