NZ v PAK 2024: WATCH- Babar Azam drops a sitter of Kane Williamson; cricket fans mock the former Pakistan captain

The incident happened in the first T20I between two sides in Auckland.

Babar Azam dropped Kane Williamson's catch | GettyFormer Pakistan captain Babar Azam was heavily trolled after he dropped a dolly catch in the first T20I of the five-match series against New Zealand. And the batter that got the life thanks to the dropped catch was Kiwi captain Kane Williamson.

Shaheen Afridi, in his first T20I as Pakistan captain, won the toss and chose to field first. He also gave his team an early breakthrough as well, dismissing Devon Conway for a golden duck.

The incident of the dropped catch happened in the 5th over. Abbas Afridi got Kane Williamson to hit the ball off a good length ball on middle and leg, which went high in the air. Babar Azam stationed at long on, tried to backpedal and take the catch reverse cupped, but the ball burst out of his hands.

Despite desperate efforts to catch the ball, Babar failed to do so and not only was he left disappointed, but his teammates were left heartbroken as well.

Thanks to Babar Azam’s mistake, the cricket fans on social media got fodder to troll the ex-Pakistan skipper and he received some interesting comments on his dropped catch.
