Veteran batter David Warner made a Hollywoodesque entry at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) to play for Sydney Thunder in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL 13). Warner had recently played his final Test at the same venue a week ago.
Warner, who signed a two-year contract with Sydney Thunder, was attending the wedding of his brother. And in order to make it in time for Thunder’s match against Sydney Sixers on Friday, Warner flew in a private helicopter. The flying machine landed in the outfield in SCG where the ‘Thanks Dave’ logo was painted for his last Test.
Earlier it was planned that Warner’s chopper would land at the nearby Allianz Stadium, but that plan was dropped. This Sixers match is going to be one of the three appearances Warner will make for Thunder this season.
