Steve Smith, the cricket sensation, demonstrated his versatility on Thursday when he took the court at Melbourne Park for a friendly match against tennis legend Novak Djokovic.
The exhibition tennis match between the two stars acted as a prelude to the Australian Open 2024, which begins on January 12. Djokovic is the number 1 seed for the Australian Open.
He will open against a qualifier or lucky loser, with a potential face-off against Australian contenders Marc Polmans or Alexei Popyrin in the subsequent round.
Smith is known for his cricket skills, and viewers were taken aback when he beautifully returned one of Djokovic's serves on Centre Court.

Even the seasoned tennis champion was taken away, bowing down to the former Australia cricket captain amid a thunderous ovation from the excited audience.
Novak Djokovic then tried his hand with the cricket bat but missed a big shot. He finally picked up a tennis racket and sent the ball into the crowd.
Steve Smith will open for Australia in the upcoming West Indies Test series and captain the side in the ODI series.
