Team India head coach and former captain Rahul Dravid is celebrating his 51st birthday today January 11 and received wishes from the fellow Indian cricket fraternity on social media. Dravid was born in 1973 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, but was brought up in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
He was regarded as one of the most technically profound hitters of his time, and Wisden named him one of the five best cricketers of the year in 2000. He was dubbed "The Wall" for to his stoic defensive technique and unwavering concentration.
Dravid, who was considered a Test batter early in his career, went on to set records in ODI and T20 franchise cricket. Rahul Dravid made his India Test debut at Lord's in 1996, alongside Sourav Ganguly, and scored 95 runs in an outstanding partnership. He made his One-Day International debut in Singapore against Sri Lanka earlier that year.

In 164 Tests, Dravid scored 13288 runs, including 36 hundreds, with a high score of 270 and an average of 52.31. He also captained India from 2005 to 2007, guiding the side to its first Test win in South Africa and a Test series victory in England.
Between 1996 and 2011, the right-hander scored 10889 runs in 344 ODIs, including 12 centuries and 83 fifties. His highest score was 153, and he is the only batter to have been part of two triple-century partnerships in 50-over cricket.
He also played in IPL, leading the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals franchises.
Today, as he celebrates his 51st birthday, the Indian cricket fraternity took to Twitter to wish him lots of love.
