Pakistan managed to post a very good first-innings total against Australia in the ongoing third and final Test. This match is being played at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) and is also the final Test of David Warner’s career.
While Pakistan gradually improved in their batting and had done so with their bowling in the MCG Test, one aspect of their game which has been a thorn in their progress, is their fielding and catching.
And this shortcoming was on display early on in the Australian innings when David Warner, coming out in his final Test, was given a life by debutant Saim Ayub.
Pakistan pacer Aamer Jamal bowled a brilliant delivery, forcing the veteran Australia opener to edge the ball to the slips. But, Ayub didn't seem to be prepared as the ball just plopped out of his hands and he missed a simple catch.
Next to him was former Pakistan captain Babar Azam, who was left so shocked and disappointed that he facepalmed hard.
Here is the video:
Warner was eventually dismissed for 34 and looked annoyed as he left the Sydney Cricket Ground to a standing ovation from his home crowd.
