Tamil Nadu’s young batting star, Pradosh Ranjan Paul shared a selfie with Indian batting superstar Virat Kohli and called him his idol. Paul is in South Africa with the India A team for four-day matches tour.
Kohli's fanbase knows no bounds, whether they are cricket fans, experts, or even cricketers. The batter's batting skill, energy on the pitch, and general contribution to the game have left the bulk of the cricket fraternity in awe of his record-breaking achievements.
Virat Kohli had an excellent year in 2023 with the bat, scoring 2048 runs in all international cricket. With this, he surpassed Kumar Sangakkara’s record of scoring 2000 runs or more in a calendar year, by achieving this feat for the record 7th time.
He had a wonderful ICC World Cup 2023 as well, winning the Player of the Tournament for 765 runs in 11 matches with 3 centuries and 6 fifties. He also scored a record 50th ODI ton in the tournament, breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s all-time 49 ODI centuries record.

The 765 runs also broke Tendulkar’s record for most runs in one World Cup edition, 673 which he had achieved in 2003 tournament.
Meanwhile, Pradosh Ranjan Paul took to his Instagram to share a heart-warming post with Kohli. The post featured Pradosh's selfie with the veteran batter in his practice jersey during their meeting in South Africa.
He captioned the post, "My inspiration, my idol. The man who means a lot to me. The best moment for me in 2023."
