AUS v PAK 2023-24: WATCH- “Seen him bat in IPL..Ughh..PSL”- Marnus Labuschagne hilariously sledges Shaheen Afridi

Labuschagne sledged Shaheen when Pakistan was 236/7 in the chase of 317 runs in MCG Test.

Marnus Labuschagne and Shaheen Afridi had quite a verbal duel in MCG Test |XAustralia cricketer Marnus Labuschagne was heard sledging Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi about his exploits with the bat as the visitors face another defeat in the second Test of the three-match series down under. Eventually, Pakistan lost by 79 runs in their chase of 317.

Needing a very good chase, Pakistan was hampered by Australian captain Pat Cummins who completed a well deserved 10-wicket haul in the match, as he took 5/48 and 5/49 in the two innings.

It was another disappointing batting performance for the Pakistani team, as no batter was able to rise to the occasion and anchor a win for Pakistan. Imam ul-Haq and Babar Azam were both out for 12 and 41 runs in the second innings, respectively.

This also meant that Babar Azam, the best Pakistani batter, finished the year 2023 without a fifty in Test cricket.

AUS v PAK 2023-24: “Haris Rauf should have played against Australia instead of BBL”- Shahid Afridi

The funny incident between Labuschagne and Shaheen happened when Pakistan was 236/7. Shaheen, along with Agha Salman were the last hopes for Pakistan. Labuschagne, who was fielding at short-leg, during the fourth ball of Pakistan's 66th over, stepped up and chatted with Shaheen. While teasing Pakistan's top pacer, he highlighted the IPL and PSL.

80 runs in 6 overs...very doable....It's for Shaheen..I've seen him play IPL...Ugh...PSL..Can he..?” Labuschagne was heard saying.

The sledge seemingly worked as Shaheen fell to Australian skipper Pat Cummins and was caught by Marnus Labuschagne for a duck in the next over.

With the win, Australia also sealed the Test series and now has an unassailable lead of 2-0 with one Test to play. Pakistan’s dream of winning a Test series in Australia is once again a dream and now they will want to end the series on a winning note in Sydney, where the third Test begins on January 3.
