Warner handed his gloves to a young fan as he walked out of MCG | XWhen David Warner returned to the dressing room at the legendary Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Thursday, he received a standing ovation. The left-hander managed only six runs in Australia's second innings before being dismissed by Mir Hamza in the fifth over after lunch in the ongoing Boxing Day Test against Pakistan.

Warner tried to force a short ball outside off stump with a pull shot but only managed to drag it onto his stumps. Warner trudged back to the pavilion and as he walked off, the MCG’s ovation seemed to move Warner.

He acknowledged the applause by waving his bat and then gave a thumbs-up to the fans.

In addition to this, while walking into the pavilion, Warner handed his gloves to a young fan who was eagerly awaiting a high-five from the veteran Australian batter.

David Warner had struck a brilliant 162 in the first Test in Perth, but in Melbourne, Warner’s bat remained silent. He will play his final Test match of his career at his home ground on Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney.
