Former India skipper MS Dhoni has admitted that it’s difficult to maintain long hair before revealing the reason behind his retro look.

Dhoni used to have long hair when he burst onto the international scene in 2004. His hairstyle was quite popular among the youngsters back in those days. Even former Pakistan Prime Minister Parvez Musharraf had praised his looks when India toured Pakistan in 2006.

With Dhoni probably entering his final season in professional cricket, he is once again back to the retro look that he maintained till 2007.

“Maintaining this hairstyle is very difficult. Earlier I used to get ready in 20 mins, now it takes 1 hour 10 minutes. I’m doing this because fans are liking it, but someday I wake up and decide it’s enough, I’ll cut it down,” said Dhoni in a video doing rounds on social media.

While MS Dhoni retired from international cricket in 2020, he continues to feature in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He captained CSK to a record-equalling fifth IPL title earlier this year.

Dhoni will return to action during the 2024 edition of IPL. He underwent a knee surgery soon after the completion of the IPL 2023 season and has made a good recovery so far.
