IPL 2024: Rashid Khan meets “Captain Sahab” Shubman Gill; GT and Michael Vaughan react

Rashid Khan underwent a minor surgery for a back issue in UK recently.

Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill | XGujarat Titans’ newly appointed captain for the IPL 2024, Shubman Gill recently met with the franchise’s top spinner Rashid Khan. Gill will take over captain from Hardik Pandya, who was traded to Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2024 auction.

Rashid Khan, who is an integral part of Afghanistan's cricket team, played a pivotal role in their success at the World Cup 2023. After the tournament, the leg-spinner had to undergo a minor back surgery in the UK on November 24.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced the successful completion of the procedure and anticipated a swift recovery for Rashid.

Despite his dedication to the game, Rashid's medical condition forced him to miss the Big Bash League (BBL) season, where he was scheduled to play for the Adelaide Strikers.

Brian Lara expects Shubman Gill to break his world record scores of 400* and 501*

As he recovered from his surgery, Rashid got a special visit from his GT teammate and now captain, Shubman Gill. The Afghan spinner was thrilled to meet Gill and called him 'Captain Sahab.'

"Thank you for stopping by Captain Sahab," said Rashid Khan on Instagram.
