Former India opener Gautam Gambhir welcomed BCCI’s decision to extend the contracts of the Indian team’s coaching staff. He was also happy with head coach Rahul Dravid agreeing to continue in his role and hoped that the Men in Blue side would continue to dominate the cricket world.
The BCCI also extended the contracts of bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, batting coach Vikram Rathour, and fielding coach T Dilip.
“The Board of Control for Cricket in India announces the extension of contracts for head coach Rahul Dravid and the support staff of Team India (senior men). The Board acknowledges Dravid’s instrumental role in molding the Indian team and commends his exceptional professionalism,” BCCI said in a statement.

“I thank the BCCI and the office bearers for placing their trust in me, endorsing my vision, and providing support during this period. I am genuinely proud of the culture we have set in the dressing room. As we embrace new challenges post the World Cup, we remain committed to the pursuit of excellence,” Dravid stated.
Meanwhile, Gautam Gambhir hoped that the Indian team would continue its dominant run in world cricket under Rahul Dravid, especially with the focus on the T20 World Cup 2024.
“It’s a good thing because the T20 World Cup is around the corner and you don’t want to change the entire support staff, and it is good that Rahul has accepted it. Hopefully, we can continue to dominate and play good cricket,” Gambhir told ANI.
