India keeper-batter Rishabh Pant recently paid a visit to the ongoing the Delhi Capitals (DC) training camp ahead of the IPL 2024 and seemed in good spirits. The franchise has organized a camp for its players at the Jadavpur University ground in Kolkata.

The India star has not played a competitive game since the horrific car accident towards the end of last year. His last match was during India’s tour of Bangladesh in December 2022.

On the even of New Year in December, Pant was on his way from Delhi when his car hit the divider and caught fire on Dehradun highway. Rishabh Pant was lucky to escape out of the burning car and not sustain any career-threatening injuries.

He underwent a couple of surgeries including a major one on his knee to correct an old issue and damage from the accident.

After recovering from the surgery, he traveled to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for rehabilitation, and his quick recovery surprised everyone. He began walking with a crutch and had even attended a DC game in IPL 2023 in Delhi, his first public appearance since the accident.

Since then, Rishabh Pant has started walking without crutches and even began batting in the nets. He played a cricket match for the first time on August 15 this year in Bengaluru. Pant has also spent time getting his strength back at the NCA. He began working on intense drills for wicketkeeping and batting.

Reports have stated that BCCI wants to be conservative in introducing Rishabh Pant back into the game and he might play a few domestic matches before his return to the Indian team.

In a latest fan video on X, Rishabh Pant can be seen visiting the DC training camp in Kolkata. He can be seen talking to the players and staff there. He is also seen walking effortlessly without a support strap on his knee, which brings good news to all his fans, praying for his comeback.
