Sri Lankan player Isuru Udana had a lucky and narrow escape as a snake slithered past him while he was fielding during an LPL 2023 match at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

The incident happened during the match between B-Love Kandy and Jaffna Kings on August 12.

Wanindu Hasaranga, the captain of B-Love Kandy, won the toss and chose to bat first in Colombo on Saturday evening. The team got off to a rollicking start, with the overseas opening partnership of Mohammad Haris and Fakhar Zaman adding 51 runs in 5.3 overs.

Jaffna Kings made a comeback into the match with three quick wickets of Fakhar Zaman, Dinesh Chandimal, and Sahan Arachchige. But then Angelo Matthews joined Mohammad Haris to add a 75-run stand for 4th wicket.

Haris top-scored for Kandy with 81 to help propel their total to 178/8 in the allotted 20 overs.

Then, in the bowling innings of B-Love Kandy, under the bright lights of R Premadasa Stadium, a snake was seen moving on the field and Isuru Udana, unaware of its presence was getting back into position.
