The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) wished their former head coach Andy Flower the very best on his new innings as the head coach of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), starting from IPL 2024 onwards.
RCB decided not to renew the contracts of their head coach Sanjay Bangar and director of cricket Mike Hesson and have signed Flower for a three-year deal. Flower had earlier been the head coach of LSG for the last two years, guiding the team to playoffs in IPL 2022 and 2023.
After RCB confirmed getting Flower on board, LSG reacted to the former’s announcement post on social media. And in response, LSG commented: “This should be fun. Go well, Andy.”
Though LSG posted in goodwill, the fans decided to have some fun with the interaction. And one of the most hilarious response was asking LSG to trade Naveen Ul Haq to RCB now.
The jibe was directed at the scuffle between the Afghan cricketer and RCB star Virat Kohli during an IPL 2023 game in Lucknow. It became one of the biggest talking points of the tournament.
Later even LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir got involved and had a heated discussion with Kohli before being separated by players from both teams.
