India fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has sent his fans and Indian cricket followers into a tizzy after he made a huge change in his Instagram bio.
Kumar,33, last played for India in New Zealand in a T20I last year and was then overlooked for the home series against Sri Lanka and New Zealand. He was also not picked for the three ODIs against Australia.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar played all 14 games for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2023, but it seems the BCCI selection panel has moved on from the pacer, who had picked a wicket on his first ball in ODI cricket against Pakistan in 2012-13.
Since the IPL 2023, he hasn't played any competitive cricket, even staying away from domestic cricket. On Friday, hawkish users on Twitter noticed how Bhuvneshwar dropped the word 'Cricketer' from his description on Instagram.
Earlier going by 'Indian cricketer', Bhuvi's current profile reads 'Indian', leading many to wonder whether the king of swing has played his last match for India.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar has played 21 Tests, 121 ODIs, and 87 T20Is for India, picking 63, 141, and 90 wickets respectively. He was the first Indian to take a fifer in T20Is and has two five-wicket hauls to his name in T20Is.
Apart from this, Bhuvneshwar also has three fifties in Test cricket and one match-winning half-century in ODIs.
Cricket fans on Twitter were surprised by this move and feared that it was the end of the road for the UP pacer going forward in international cricket.
