Indian cricket fans on Twitter felt that India A opener Sai Sudharsan was hard done by the TV umpire during the Emerging Team’s Asia Cup 2023 final against Pakistan A which was played on July 23 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Pakistan, thanks to a brilliant ton by Tayyab Tahir and a fifty by Sahibzada Farhan, posted 352/8 in 50 overs after being asked to bat first by India captain Yash Dhull.

In response, Indian batting couldn’t cope with the huge target despite getting a brilliant start by Sai Sudharsan (29) and Abhishek Sharma (61) and folded for 224 in 40 overs, giving Pakistan a massive 128-run win and the Asia Cup trophy as well.

The dismissal of opener Sai Sudharsan not only hurt India A in the stiff chase of 353 but also questioned the third umpire’s decision.

Sudharsan mistimed a pull shot off Arshad Iqbal’s bowling and was caught by Pakistan skipper Mohammad Haris. However, while checking the bowler’s front foot in TV replay, it seemed like Iqbal had overstepped while Sudharsan too waited on the boundary ropes, hoping to be given a no-ball.

However, the TV umpire decided that the foot was marginally inside the crease and adjudged Sudarshan out.

But the Indian fans felt that the TV umpire made a poor decision and that Sai Sudharsan could’ve been called back.
