WATCH- Finn Allen’s brain-fade moment in MLC 2023, jogs for a run and gets dismissed run out

The incident happened during the 4th match of the MLC 2023.

Finn Allen | MLCNew Zealand batter Finn Allen was the victim of his lack of game awareness in the recent Major League Cricket (MLC 2023) match between the Seattle Orcas and San Francisco Unicorns on July 15, 2023, which was played at Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas.

The San Francisco Unicorns were set a target of 178 runs by Seattle Orcas and Allen opened the batting with Matthew Wade. He scored 28 good-looking runs with 4 fours and 2 sixes. He also added 42 runs for the first wicket in just 3.2 overs with Matthew Wade.

However, Unicorns lost an unnecessary wicket as in the 4th over, Finn Allen hit a ball towards mid-on and began jogging for a single. An alert Shehan Jayasuriya noticed that Allen wasn't making enough effort and the square-leg fielder threw the ball towards the non-striker's end.

Barring Allen, Matthew Wade, and Shadab Khan, none of their batters could breach the 20-run mark and Unicorns got bowled out for 142, falling short by 35 runs. For Orcas, Heinrich Klaasen did the job with the bat and smashed 53 off 31 balls. With the ball, Cameron Gannon played a big part and scalped 4 wickets in 3.5 overs.
