While the controversy of Jonny Bairstow’s stumped dismissal in the recent Lord’s Test between England and Australia continues to flare up altercations on social media, a fan has shared a video of the England keeper trying to do the same to Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne.
Bairstow was out stumped after Alex Carey hit the timber with an under-arm throw after the England batter had moved out of his crease after ducking a Cameron Green bouncer.
The TV umpire was consulted as a result of Australians appealing and the result came out in Bairstow being given out.
This led to a continuous chant of ‘cheaters’ at the Australian players and booing by the England crowd at the Lord’s. The visiting team players also had to endure boos and chants while walking through the Lord’s long room to the dressing room.
Meanwhile, new video showed Jonny Bairstow, the wicketkeeper, trying to run out Marnus Labuschagne on day 3 of the Lord's Test, pretty similar to the way Alex Carey got him out on day five.
Labuschagne had shouldered arms, and Bairstow gathered the ball and immediately under-armed a throw at the striker’s end, misses the stumps. Labuschagne was inside the crease then.

However, there is a minor difference between the behavior of both batters when compared.
In Bairstow's case, he had ducked under the bouncer and scratched his back foot inside the crease, which is traditionally the last action a batsman performs before leaving the crease in cricket.
Typically, they either leave once the umpire calls "over," which denotes that play has ended and batters are free to leave their crease, or they gaze at the square-leg umpire or the opposing fielders behind the stumps.
Labuschagne hadn’t done anything similar; but neither did he leave the crease.
Although the square-leg umpire Chris Gaffaney had started to go towards the stumps and the main umpire Ahsan Raza had reached into his pocket to retrieve the bowler's cap, no call of "over" had yet been made by the umpires. Therefore the ball remained in play.
