Ashes 2023: WATCH- Marnus Labuschagne’s unhygienic act, puts dropped chewing gum back in his mouth

Australia put up 416 after being asked to bat first at Lord's with Smith hammering a ton.

Marnus Labuschagne | TwitterAustralia batter Marnus Labuschagne was seen engaging in a gross, unhygienic act during his time at the crease in the ongoing second Test of the Ashes 2023 being played at the Lord’s in London. Australia was put into bat first and posted 416 runs.

Steve Smith was the pick of the batters with 110, while Travis Head made 77 and David Warner scored 66 runs. Ollie Robinson and Josh Tongue picked three wickets apiece for England.

During the Australia innings, Marnus, known for his peculiar habits, was caught on camera dropping his chewing gum on the pitch and then picking it up and putting it back in his mouth.

The incident happened ahead of the 45th over when Labuschagne was batting alongside Steve Smith. The cameras spotted him dropping a chewing gum from his mouth while adjusting his gloves.

However, much to disgust, cameras captured him picking the fallen gum up and putting it back in his mouth.

He did decently well with the bat, scoring 47 runs while Smith conjured up his 32nd Test century.

In reply, England made 278/4 at stumps on day 2 with Ben Duckett falling on 98, while Zak Crawley and Ollie Pope scored 40s.
