Actress Athiya Shetty, wife of KL Rahul, took to Instagram and posted a clarification on her stories after video clips of the Indian cricketer allegedly at an adult-themed club in London went viral on social media on Friday (May 26).

The actress stated she and Rahul visited a ‘regular place’ with their friends and asked media to check the facts before reporting.

Athiya wrote, “I usually choose to be silent and not react, but sometimes it is important to stand up for yourself. Rahul, I and our friends went out to a regular place as one does,”

“Stop taking things out of context, and check your facts before reporting. Peace and love.” she added in her story.

The batter recently underwent a surgery in London after suffering a thigh injury during Lucknow Super Giants' IPL 2023 clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 1.

Rahul missed remainder of LSG's campaign which concluded with a defeat in the Eliminator to Mumbai Indians. He will also miss the all-important World Test Championship final against Australia and is likely to be out for at least couple of months though no time frame on his return has been revealed yet.

Athiya, daughter of veteran actor Suniel Shetty, tied the knot with KL Rahul in January 2023 after dating each other for few years.
