The second match of the Legends League Cricket Masters (LLC 2023) got underway at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium, Doha, between India Maharajas and World Giants.
India Maharajas lost their first bout to Asia Lions yesterday and were eager to get their first points on the table.
World Giants captain Aaron Finch won the toss and chose to bat first. He opened the innings with Chris Gayle, but the former West Indies opener couldn’t do much damage to India Maharaja bowlers as veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh had his number early.
In the 3rd over of the innings, Harbhajan Singh bowled a loopy slower delivery outside the leg stump to Gayle, who didn’t attempt to play a shot thinking it would end up as a wide. However, the slowness of the ball, allowed it to turn viciously and it rattled Gayle’s leg stump as a result.
This left the burly Jamaican speechless and he kept looking at his stumps and at the umpire and then at the bowler. Harbhajan Singh and the Maharaja players couldn’t keep themselves from being amused at the dismissal, while Gayle walked off in disbelief.

Meanwhile, Aaron Finch made 53, while Shane Watson made 55 as the Giants were 132/4 in 14 overs at the time of writing this piece.
