Suryakumar Yadav is part of the Indian Test squad for the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. He made his red-ball debut in the series opener in Nagpur but failed to make a mark with the bat in India’s only innings. Yadav scored 8 before being cleaned up by Nathan Lyon as the hosts won the match by an innings and 132 runs.

With Shreyas Iyer recovering from the back injury, Surya lost his place in the starting XI for the next two Tests in Delhi and Indore. He is likely to return to action in the three-match ODI series against Australia.
