NZ v ENG 2023: WATCH- Ollie Pope shines at silly point; takes amazing reflex catch of Daryl Mitchell

Pope's amazing catch left Mitchell stunned | GettyEngland’s Ollie Pope was rage at silly point position as he took an amazing reflex catch of Daryl Mitchell to give New Zealand a huge blow in their first innings of the ongoing second Test at the Basin Reserve in Wellington on Saturday.

England are on the threshold of a series sweep after dominating day two at the Basin Reserve, reducing the Black Caps to 138-7 when rain forced an early end, having earlier declared their first innings at 435-8.

Harry Brook hit 186 runs and Ben Stokes only declared the innings on day 2 after Joe Root reached 153*.

Then James Anderson (3/37) stepped in removing Devon Conway, Kane Williamson and Will Young for single-digits scores, while Jack Leach (3/45) picked three scalps as well.  

Ollie Pope took that astonishing catch on the last ball of the 33rd over bowled by Leach. Mitchell, who was batting on 13, stretched forward fully to defend a straight delivery. However, to his surprise Pope, who was deployed at silly point, showed tremendous reflexes and plucked the ball in midair diving down to his right.
