The Saurashtra team won its second Ranji Trophy title by defeating Bengal in the final recently by 9 wickets. This was their second title this season, after the Vijay Hazare Trophy in December.
The final which was played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata saw Saurashtra bowling out Bengal for 174 runs in 1st innings. Then Saurashtra posted 404 with Sheldon Jackson, Harvik Desai, Chirag Jani, and Arpit Vasavada scoring half-centuries.
In reply, Bengal posted 241 runs with Anustup Majumdar and captain Manoj Tiwary scoring half-centuries, while Unadkat starred with the ball with figures of 6/85. The 12-run target was achieved at the loss of one wicket only. Unadkat was named the Player of the Match as well for his nine wickets.

Unadkat took to Twitter to post some moments of cricket fans celebrating Saurashtra’s win. “Incredible scenes at the Rajkot airport today when we landed. This is something I have never witnessed before. There was spark. There was excitement. There was a sense of the bright future of cricket in Saurashtra! Well done guys! Let’s keep the fire burning,” he wrote.
