As Indian tennis star Sania Mirza called time on her glorious Grand Slam career on Friday (January 27), wishes poured in from all corners of the world for one of India’s greatest women tennis players.

Sania finished her Grand Slam career as runners-up in the Australian Open mixed doubles after she and her partner Rohan Bopanna went down 6-7(2), 2-6 to the Brazilian pair of Luisa Stefani and Rafael Mataos in the final at the Rod Laver Arena on Friday.

Notably, Sania and Shoaib got married in 2010, and the couple have a son together named Izhaan Mirza Malik. However, there were a lot of speculations about their separation, but they have so far kept tight lips on the matter.

Well, it was Sania’s 11th Grand Slam final, she won 43 doubles titles overall, including six Grand Slams, and spent 91 weeks as the World No. 1 women’s doubles player. She is set to retire from the game after a tennis tournament next month in Dubai, where she recently launched a tennis academy.
