Bumrah has been rehabbing at NCA for his stress reaction to the back.

Bumrah has been rehabbing at NCA seen bowling to Venkatesh Iyer | InstagramIndian pacer Jasprit Bumrah might have not been named in the national squad for the first two Tests of the upcoming four-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia at home, but with his latest video of bowling in the nets, hopes of millions of Indian team fans have propped up.

Bumrah has been out of action since September last year after he was rushed back into the team after battling a stress reaction to his lower back. Those two T20I matches against Australia proved to be the last straw for the pacer as he broke down again and missed the T20 World Cup 2022 and has not been considered for return since.

He has been rehabbing at the NCA regularly and was scheduled to make his return to the Indian team during the ODI series against Sri Lanka last week. He was added to the squad as well, but on the eve of the first ODI, he has ruled out once again. It was reported that he still needs one month more to get back into match shape.

However, now the pacer has started to bowl again in nets and has raised hopes of him featuring in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series, which is also important for India with respect to the WTC final as well. India needs to win atleast three Tests in the series to qualify for the final.

Bumrah is getting treated for his back problem at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru these days, and on Saturday, Indian all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer shared a video on Instagram in which Bumrah can be seen bowling to him at the NCA nets.

Interestingly, Iyer was also out after fracturing his ankle during Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 2022 and has not played cricket since then.
