India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant on Monday (January 16) took to social media to provide an update on his health post surgery as well as thank his fans, teammates, doctors, physios and the BCCI after his horrific car crash on December 30.
Pant, who survived narrowly in the accident near Roorkee, was admitted to a hospital in Dehradun for almost a week where he received initial treatment before being airlifted to Mumbai on instructions of BCCI for surgery on his torn knee ligaments and further treatment of the injuries he had sustained.
The 25-year-old is now on the ‘road to recovery’ as per his latest tweets and is ready to face the challenges that lie ahead as he looks to first get back on his feet and then start his rehabilitation program to make a return to onfield action.
It's currently difficult to put a timeframe on his comeback, but he's reportedly set to be away from the field for most of if not entirely in 2023.

After a while, Pant then posted another tweet to thank his ‘heroes’ Rajat Kumar and Rinku Kumar, who had helped him come out of his car but also ensured he gets to the hospital safely.
“I may not have been able to thank everyone individually, but I must acknowledge these two heroes who helped me during my accident and ensured I got to the hospital safely. Rajat Kumar & Nishu Kumar, Thank you. I'll be forever grateful and indebted.” Pant wrote and shared a picture of the duo visiting him in the Dehradun hospital.
