PAK v NZ 2022-23: WATCH - Umpire Aleem Dar suffers a painful blow as Mohammad Wasim Jr’s throw hits him on ankle

The incident happened during the 36th over of the Kiwi innings when Glenn Phillips flicked a delivery from Haris Rauf to deep square leg and rushed for a quick single.

Mohammad Wasim Jr, who was stationed at deep square leg, picked the ball and aimed at the stumps, hoping to produce a direct hit.

However, Dar was at the receiving end of the throw as the ball hit him while he was looking at the batters who were trying to make ground.

After taking the blow, Aleem Dar tossed the sweater that he had in his hand while some Pakistani players were seen laughing. Naseem Shah then came and massaged the right leg of the umpire while he got sprayed on the sore area.

Coming to the match, New Zealand were bowled out for 261 in 49.5 overs. Devon Conway was the top scorer with 101 off 92 balls while skipper Kane Williamson returned with a knock of 85.

For Pakistan, Mohammad Nawaz (4-38) and Naseem Shah (3-58) shared seven scalps between them.
