India batter Virat Kohli and his actress wife Anushka Sharma ushered in the New Year 2023 in Dubai. The former Indian captain flew to Dubai with his family after the conclusion of the recent tour of Bangladesh with Team India.
Kohli has not been named in India's squad for the three T20Is against Sri Lanka, hence he had some time on hand to let his hair down and unwind. After his holiday, the 34-year-old will join the Indian team ahead of the three ODIs against the same opposition from January 10.

Kohli answered his critics with the bat in the final quarter of 2022 after going through an extended rough phase across formats, as he scored a maiden T20I ton in the Asia Cup, and then finished as the leading run-getter in the T20 World Cup despite India not making the final. He rounded off the year in white-ball cricket with his 44th ODI ton in Bangladesh, first in three years in the format.
Though, he finished the year with a spate of low scores in the two Tests against Bangladesh, there were enough encouraging signs for the batting superstar in the last few months going into 2023, which will be an important year for India with the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, a potential WTC Final, and the ODI World Cup lined up.
