R Ashwin takes a hilarious jibe at a fan on being asked to bring idli-sambhar; fans react

Ashwin will travel to Bangladesh for the two- Test series in December.

R Ashwin | TwitterR Ashwin was rested from the tour of the New Zealand after the T20 World Cup 2022 as he will be prepping for the two-Test series against Bangladesh next month. Ashwin played all the matches in the ICC event and had a below-par outing with the ball.

Many questioned his place in the team over Yuzvendra Chahal, but he showed his mettle with the bat in a couple of games.

Now he is very active on social media and on his YouTube channel sharing his views on various issues regarding the Indian team and cricket in general.

Ashwin was sharing his thoughts on the funny banter between Stephen Fleming, Zaheer Khan, and Murali Kartik during the third ODI between New Zealand and India which is being played in Christchurch on November 30.

The trio was discussing the pitches used in India-New Zealand encounters over the years, when Fleming talked about flat pitches India got for a series in New Zealand while Zaheer and Kartik reminded Fleming of the bouncy and green tracks prepared in the 2002 series while also pointing out that Kiwi spinner Daniel Vettori was hardly used.

Ashwin tweeted:Quality banter from Stephen Fleming, @kartikmurali and @ImZaheer. Flem talking about flat wickets when india come for a series to NZ and our boys reminding him about the 2002 series where Dan Vettori dint bowl a single over. #indvsnz @PrimeVideo

Meanwhile, a fan replied to Ashwin and asked for a plate of idli sambhar, mocking the spinner who hails from Tamil Nadu. The fan posted: “Anna one plate idli sambar”.

Not the one to take jibes lying down, Ashwin asked the fan, whose Twitter name was Hitman, with a profile photo of Rohit Sharma, whether he wanted vada as well.

Here is how some fans reacted to Ashwin’s amazing reply to the fan trying to mock him:
