Sourav Ganguly, former Indian captain and outgoing BCCI president, showcased his humor amid the reports of Roger Binny taking over as the new board president at an event in Kolkata, where he was named brand ambassador of the Bandhan Bank.

Notably, the BCCI President, Ganguly, was denied for the second term in his role and, for the past week, there have been reports of India’s 1983 World Cup winner, Roger Binny, taking over as the new BCCI President with the number of roles set to change later this October.

Well, Ganguly’s tongue-in-cheek remark during the promotional event caught everyone’s attention, as it was about Binny, who is widely referred to replace him as the BCCI president.

Actually, at the event, Ganguly was shown a video of his on-air stint alongside Rahul Dravid and Harsha Bhogle from an India-England Test. In the clip, Dravid can be heard pulling Ganguly's leg by saying Binny wasn't fit enough to be bowled consistently.

When the clip ended, the anchor tried to say something about that match or his on-air stint, but Ganguly was quick to top him to leave everyone sitting in the audience in instant laughter by saying: “By the way, that Binny is not Roger Binny. That's Stuart Binny.”

To which, the anchor said while laughing: “Very important point to make, especially on this day.”

Earlier, Ganguly said at the event as quoted by Hindustan Times: “You can't play forever. You can't be an administrator forever, but it's been fun doing both and seeing both sides of the coin. I will go for bigger things in future.”

He added, “I was a cricketer's administrator. Yes, you had to make decisions because there's so much cricket happening, there's so much money around. There's women's cricket, there's domestic cricket. Yes you had to take calls at times as an individual.”
