Former Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Asif’s "cheater" comment on Deepti Sharma running out Charlie Dean at the non-striker's end during the third and final Women's ODI at Lord’s didn’t go down well with the Indian fans and now they are reminding him of his wrongdoing in 2010 on social media.

Notably, Deepti Sharma ran out Charlie Dean at the non-striker's end in the 44th over of England's chase when the hosts required only 17 in the last 38 balls to win the final ODI against India Women.

However, India managed to pull off a thrilling 16-run win to whitewash England in the ODI series.

Well, it was well within the laws of the game and the TV umpire confirmed that Dean was run out, but it sparked a massive debate among the cricket fraternity, with many England cricketers and fans calling Deepti's doing against the spirit of cricket.

Former Pakistani pacer Mohammed Asif threw fuel on the fire by calling Deepti Sharma's act of running Dean out "unfair and terrible".

Sharing a picture of Deepti and Dean from the match on Twitter, Asif mentioned that the Indian bowler didn’t have the intention of bowling, and she did cheat by dislodging the bails at the non-striker's end.

He tweeted: “We can see it clearly there is no intention of bowling the ball, she is looking towards non-striker batter to cheat him. This is a very unfair & terrible act worst spirit. #mankading #mankad #Cheater #INDvsENG.”

Meanwhile, Asif’s tweet did not go down well with fans, and they are sharing the video of the entire dismissal to clear his doubts, while some reminded him of the spot-fixing scandal he was involved in back in 2010.

Asif, along with Mohammad Amir and then Pakistan captain Salman Butt were imprisoned, fined, and banned from cricket for being involved in spot-fixing during a Test match in 2010 against Australia which was played in England.

Here are some Twitter reactions –
