Veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who is part of the Indian squad in the ongoing home T20I series against Australia, took out some time to play gully cricket with the youngsters.
Taking to Instagram, Ashwin uploaded a video in which he can be seen engaging in a game of cricket with the local young boys.
"Nothing can beat Area Cricket," he wrote in the caption.
Ashwin didn’t feature in the opening T20I against Australia in Mohali on September 20, which India lost by four wickets.
It was a high-scoring affair as the hosts piled up a massive 208/6 in their 20 overs after being asked to bat first. Hardik Pandya starred with the bat, scoring 71 not out off 30 balls.
In reply, the tourists overhauled the target in 19.2 overs. While Cameron Green set the tone with a blazing knock (61 off 30 balls) at the top, Matthew Wade (45* off 21 balls) wreaked havoc in the death overs to take Australia over the finishing line.
Having conceded a 1-0 lead, the Men in Blue are facing a must-win situation to stay alive in the three-match T20I series.
It remains to be seen whether India will bring Ashwin into the playing XI to bolster their bowling attack for the second T20I, scheduled to be held in Nagpur on September 23.
