India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who was recently ruled out of the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 after injuring his right knee, underwent surgery to rectify the issue and posted an update on his social media account.

Jadeja had played a crucial knock of 35 runs in India's group stage win over Pakistan and also played against Hong Kong. But he was ruled out of the remainder of the tournament ahead of the Super 4s match against Pakistan and India missed his all-around skills om that encounter, which they lost by 5 wickets.

Asia Cup 2022: “Give the best reply by performing on the field,” Sachin Tendulkar backs Arshdeep Singh

"The surgery was successful. There are many people to thank for their support and involvement - BCCI, my teammates, support staff, physios, doctors and the fans. I will start my rehab soon and try to get back to cricket soon as I can. Thank you to everyone for your kind wishes," Jadeja wrote on Instagram.

Ahead of this update, India coach Rahul Dravid had refused to confirm whether Jadeja was ruled out of the T20 World Cup 2022 saying that it was too early to say anything about this.

"Jadeja has injured his knee; he is obviously ruled out of the Asia Cup. He is under the care of the medical team, he is going to see the doctors, see the experts. The World Cup is still a fair bit away, and we don't want to jump to any conclusions and rule him out or rule him in. We'll see how it goes,” he had said.

He also received get well soon wishes from Chennai Super Kings who wrote on Instagram: "Speedy Returns, Jaddu! More Power to you"
