Indian fans were irked by the way former India spinner Harbhajan Singh reacted by laughing when former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi claimed that no one in the Indian team liked Gautam Gambhir when he played during an interaction on Aaj Tak TV.
Both Afridi and Gambhir have not shared a cordial relationship even when they were playing cricket and after they bid goodbye to the game. The duo had famously clashed on the field during a 2007 ODI match in Kanpur, in which both didn’t discount in the curse word said to one another.
Over the past few years, Gambhir and Afridi have often clashed on Twitter, be it for cricketing or political reasons. Gambhir has often criticized Afridi for his stand on controversial issues regarding India and Pakistan and Afridi has retorted in kind.
On Sunday, August 28, the former Pakistan captain took another shot at Gambhir during the former's stint on Aaj Tak as part of the expert panel on Pakistan's TV channel Samaa TV.
Afridi claimed that not even Indian players like Gautam Gambhir, in the interaction, where Harbhajan Singh also took part.
“It's not like I have had a fight with any of the Indian players. Yes, sometimes there are some arguments with Gautam Gambhir on social media. And I think that Gautam is a sort of character which no one liked even in the Indian team,” Afridi said as he talked about his relationship with the Indian players.

This prompted laughter from Harbhajan Singh and host Vikrant Gupta as well. However, this laughter didn’t sit down well with the Indian cricket fans who chastised Harbhajan Singh for his reaction to what Afridi said about his former India teammate Gambhir.
