The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), left many fans heartbroken with their decision to neither retain nor pick their loyal batter, Suresh Raina, at the IPL 2022 auction.
Raina had been a regular part of the CSK since the beginning in 2008, barring two years of suspension, and even played a key role in their success over the years. He and MS Dhoni played a pivotal role in CSK’s four title-winning campaigns and the latter is still among the all-time highest run-getter in the IPL.
However, things went wrong, when Raina opted out of not playing in the IPL 2020 and left the team a few days before the start of the tournament in the UAE. He was retained for the IPL 2021 but didn't get to play all the games as CSK won their fourth title.
Since then, there have been a lot of rumors about the rift between Raina and CSK, and it was only sparked when he was not picked by the franchise at the IPL 2022 auction.
Now that the Indian domestic calendar is set to resume next month, Raina has begun training to give himself the best chance of returning to the IPL 2023 roster.
Much to the surprise of many, the former batter was seen wearing a CSK jersey as he returned to the practice, and fans were quick to notice their star in yellow.
After seeing Raina in a CSK jersey, fans started sharing pictures of him from his training and hailing the cricketer for his loyalty.
