Former India opener Virender Sehwag is known for his sharp wit and this time a Pakistani journalist was on his target thanks to a huge mistake he made while congratulating his country’s javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem.
Nadeem became the first javelin thrower from Asia to win a Commonwealth gold in the event and cleared the 90-meter mark beating his rival, India’s Neeraj Chopra. His arch-rival Neeraj Chopra had not participated in the Men’s javelin due to an injury.
The Pakistani journalist and political commentator Zaid Hamid took a dig at Neeraj Chopra while wishing Nadeem on Twitter and posted: “And what makes this victory, even more, sweeter is the fact that this Pakistani athlete has destroyed Indian javelin throw hero Ashish nehra…… In the last competition Ashish had defeated Arshad Nadeem… What a sweet revenge come back.”
However, Sehwag caught his mistake and slayed him in his own style by posting: “Chicha, Ashish Nehra is right now preparing for UK Prime Minister Elections. So Chill”
