Popularly known as the ‘Turbanator’, former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh is celebrating his 42nd birthday on July 3, 2022, and received loads of wishes from the Indian cricket fraternity on Twitter.
Harbhajan Singh Plaha was born on July 3, 1980, in Jalandhar, Punjab. He made his India Test debut in 1998 against Australia and his ODI debut the same year against New Zealand. He has been part of India’s 2007 World T20 and 2011 World Cup victories.
However, his crowning glory came in the 2001 home Test series against Australia, when he as the lead bowler, single-handedly routed the opposition, picking 32 wickets in 3 Tests. During the epic Kolkata Test, he became the first Indian to take a Test hat-trick and shouldered the bowling attack throughout the series.
In all, Harbhajan Singh played 103 Tests, 236 ODIs, and 28 T20I matches for India picking 417, 269, and 25 wickets respectively. He was very handy with the bat, hitting two centuries, which came back-to-back against New Zealand.
Harbhajan also led the Mumbai Indians in the early part of the IPL 2008 and has won the IPL thrice with the franchise in 2013, 2015, and 2017 and then won the tournament again in 2018 with Chennai Super Kings.
Harbhajan Singh called time on his cricketing career earlier this year and today as he celebrates his 42nd birthday, here are some of the wishes he got from the cricket fraternity.
